For You

Here's a card I made using my Cuttlebug embossing folder and my Cricut.

Crisscross Train Card

Here's one of my favorite boy cards that I have made...
I love the train from the New Arrivals cartridge.

Max

Here's a layout I did yesterday of Max and all of his nicknames. The collar, fire hydrant and the bones I made with Paper Pups. I haven't done a layout in a very long time.

I finally got to scrap again...

I decided that I don't need to use my Cricut on everything that I make and I think it helped me to think outside of the box. Whenever I scrap I tried to see how the Cricut fit into all of my layouts and would get discouraged and not do anything.

This card I made for DH for Sweetest Day. There really isn't much Cricut involved. Just the heart and "est" on Sweetest. I used chipboard stickers, rub-ons, machine stitching, my Cuttlebug for embossing and the tag, and my Sizzlits for the frame around "happy". The patterned paper is by Foofala.

I have a very large stash of chipboard, paper, ribbons, embellishments, buttons, etc. in my scrap room. You name it, I have it. I am going to try to start using a little of it on everything that I make. I have been afraid to use all of my pretty stuff. Not anymore because I am thinking "outside of the Cricut box". LOL

We went apple picking for the first time this weekend. We got a little over zealous with the picking. Ended up picking 2 half bushels and now we have apples growing out of our ears. So far we've made apple turnovers, apple butter, and apple pie slab. I am looking for an apple spice cake recipe next. Whew! Won't be making that mistake again. We had a great time together, though.

Birthday Party and new Projects...

Today is Kaileigh's birthday. I can't believe she is 11. Where has the time gone??? She had a sleepover last night with her 2 BFFs and today we got together with our immediate family. I found a new recipe on www.Allrecipes.com for ice cream cake. It was very easy. Here's the recipe...

INGREDIENTS:
16 ice cream sandwiches
1 (16 ounce) container frozen non-dairy whipped topping
1 (12 ounce) jar chocolate fudge topping, room temperature

DIRECTIONS:
1. Place 8 of the ice cream sandwiches side by side in a 9x13 inch baking dish. Spread evenly with half of the hot fudge topping, then half of the whipped topping. Repeat with the remaining sandwiches and toppings. Sprinkle with grated chocolate bar.
2. Cover and freeze for at least 1 hour before serving. Keep unused portion covered and frozen.
(I layered crushed Oreos on top of the Hot Fudge) EVERYBODY LOVED IT!! This recipe's a keeper.

Here's my favorite picture of Kaileigh blowing out her candles... I love the dreamy look on her face.

Here are the photo frames that I made for her BFF's for their goodie bags. I put a photo of all of them from last night in them before we gave them to them this morning. I found these frames at the Dollar Tree and thought I could alter them. I painted them and used the Cuttlebug Olivia font for the word "friends". The flowers are Prima and the paper is from DCWV.

Here's a couple of Birthday Cards I made...

This one I used the Cuttlebug, Stickles, and ribbon.

This one I used the Christmas Light Bulbs from Chrismas Cheer for the flames...

I'm back!

I can't believe that April was the last time I posted. It's been a pretty busy back-to-school season so far. Kaileigh's birthday is on Sunday and she wanted to take hip hop dance lessons, so that's what we gave her for her birthday. Her first class was on Wednesday and she loves it. Giving her these dance lessons is so much better than buying her something that she will grow out of or lose interest in.

Leah will be starting Brownies next Thursday and it's all she talks about. She's so excited that she gets to do something "just like Mom did when she was a little girl".
I had showed her my Girl Scout sash with all of my badges and explained to her what you do when you are a Girl Scout/ Brownie and right then she decided that she wanted to do it.

Since it has been awhile since I posted, I thought I would post some of the things that I have made since my last visit. Here are some photos:

Here are a couple of recent photos of the girls.

This Kaileigh all dressed up...

Here's Leah at the park this past weekend...

So, this weekend Kaileigh is having a sleepover with 3 of her friends instead of the traditional family birthday party. I have a ton of cleaning and baking to do to get ready. I'm not sure what type of cake I will be baking for her this year- she has asked for a monkey so I guess I will be surfing for some monkey shaped cake ideas. I'm going to go to Dollar Tree tonight to make up a couple of goodie bags for the girls- probably some nail stuff and a little candy- I can't do too much on such short notice but I will try to make it alot of fun for her and her friends like I always do.
